Aston Martin DBX707 AMR24 is an F1 medical car for the road

Aston Martin supplies a Vantage as one of Formula 1’s safety cars, sharing those duties with a Mercedes-AMG GT. F1 relies on a single medical car, the Aston Martin DBX707, which can share the track with Aston Martin Racing’s F1 car, the AMR24, in the event of race problems. Last year, the English automaker’s road car division released a Vantage F1 Edition modeled after the safety car but with about 115 fewer horsepower. Last year, the company honored the other end of the field with the DBX707 AMR23 Edition. That apparently went well enough for a sequel, so here’s the DBX707 AMR24 Edition.

Buyers who want to stick as close to the inspiration as possible will opt for a Podium Green exterior with Lime Green accents and matte black 23-inch Fortis wheels with Aston Martin Racing Green brake calipers. Inside, the two-tone Onyx Black and Eifel Green cabin with Lime Green stitching and carbon fiber trim is designed just like you would see as a member of the Formula 1 medical team or a Formula 1 driver in distress.

Unlike last year, when there was just a single cosmetic specification, Aston has expanded the options menu for this year’s special edition SUV. Buyers can choose between Onyx Black or Neutron White exterior colours, the body kit is available in carbon fibre or gloss black, a second accent option is Trophy Silver, and gloss black wheels can be bolted on instead of satin black. And for real pop, get the brake callipers in Lime.

Other cabin options include a solid Onyx interior with lime green stitching and titanium mesh trim with satin chrome trim. The new highlight this year, in addition to the refreshed interior of the DBX707, is a decorative lime green band on the leading edge of the wireless charging pad.

Only one engine, the 4.0-liter V8 with two turbochargers and 697 hp and 850 Nm of torque. A plaque on the engine, “AMR24” engraved in the door sills and an Aston Martin logo in foil on the dashboard serve as identification for outsiders. A “Medical Car” sign for the lower front intake and a yellow light bar for the roof open four new and very fast doors to the F1 live role play.
