24-year-old Channel 4 star ‘found dead’ after suspected double murder

A Channel 4 television star is said to have been found dead in a house in Staffordshire. A woman’s body was also found alongside that of a man.

Police have launched a double murder investigation following the discovery of the film in Cannock at around 12.30pm on Tuesday 25 June. According to MailOnline, the bodies are believed to be those of 24-year-old 999: On The Front Line star Daniel Dufford and 22-year-old Lauren Evans.

Staffordshire Police said in a statement: “Specially trained officers have been deployed to support the families at this tragic time.”

“A lockdown has been put in place in the area while we conduct investigations to understand the circumstances of the deaths. We would request people not to speculate in the meantime,” The Express reports.

“We have set up an online portal where people can leave any information they have. You can access the Major Incident Public Portal here: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk)”

Daniel’s co-star Ellie shared an emotional tribute to him online. He appeared in the eleventh show of the Channel 4 series.

The paramedic student wrote: “Never in my life did I think I would have to sit down here and write this, and yet I’m still trying to cope with it.”

“I just want to express how special you were to me, not only my best friend at work and best co-worker, but one of my best friends, who made a tremendous impact on daily life, the kindest person who always had time to help others, who made me laugh every day and always picked up the phone when I needed help.”

“Dan, I can’t believe you’re really gone.”

“We were supposed to go out this week and I was looking forward to seeing you. Even the phone call this morning, an hour before you left, is something I’ll never forget. I love you forever, Dan.”
