We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. The CARS Tour simply doesn’t disappoint. That was the motto at the end of a turbulent, rough-and-tumble 125-lap Late Model Stock Car brawl on Wednesday night at Caraway Speedway, which ultimately saw Brent Crews emerge victorious for the second time this season.

Crews took the win by being the last driver to use the bumper in the final laps. Crews edged out points leader Connor Hall in the final turns to take the lead and take the win.
To be clear, Crews was far from the only driver to employ this tactic. The tough race began right after the first green flag, but became even more exciting at the final restart with eight laps to go.
Defending champion Carson Kvapil and Hall, who have had some success together this season, came together immediately, setting the tone for the final laps. Kvapil passed Hall, Hall passed Kvapil. Crews passed Hall, Kvapil passed Crews. William Byron passed Hall, Hall passed Byron. Hall passed Kvapil again, then Crews again. Then Crews passed Hall back, and then the checkered flag was waved.

Can you relate to all of this? Because we’re still not sure we fully understand what we experienced over the last eight rounds on Wednesday.
What is certain, however, is that Crews won for the second time this season, Byron somehow finished second and Hall third. Pole sitter Jared Fryar sneaked back up to finish fourth and Kvapil rounded out the top five.
Hall went into Wednesday’s race with a three-point lead over Brenden Queen and a 12-point lead over Crews. Hall’s lead over Queen is sure to increase, as Queen finished a distant 23rd after an accident on lap 69.
The CARS Tour will now take a few weeks off before hitting the track on Saturday, July 27 at Hickory Motor Speedway for the fan-favorite throwback event that will see both the Pro Late Models and Late Model Stock Cars back in action together.
