Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats” comes to the Algonquin Arts Theatre in July

New summer theater camp at the Jersey Shore Arts Center: A unique opportunity for young people

The Jackson branch of the Ocean County Library hosts karaoke for adults with special challenges

The best of world music returns to the Pettoranello Gardens Amphitheater in Princeton


(PRINCETON, NJ) – Blue Curtain, a summer tradition in Princeton, returns to the Pettoranello Gardens Amphitheater with two free concerts in July – Dobet Gnahoré on July 13 and Nanny & Dani Asiss on July 20. The venue is located at Route 206 and Mountain Avenue. In the event of rain or extreme heat, the shows will be moved to the Princeton High School Performing Arts Center at Franklin Avenue and Walnut Lane.


August Events at MPAC: Summer Concerts, Free Summer Events and Films


(MORRISTOWN, NJ) – The Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) presents summer events in August with a mix of comedy, pop, and a little grunge! Count Basie Center for the Arts presents Kev Herrera


(RED BANK, NJ) – The Count Basie Center for the Arts presents comedian Kev Herrera on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Born and raised in New York, Kevin Herrera is known for his comedic wit. Kevin was always the “clown” not only among his friends but also in his large Hispanic family.



FilmOneFest 2024 will take place on July 20


(ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) – FilmOneFest is an annual short film festival that challenges filmmakers of all kinds to tell their stories in under 2 minutes. FilmOneFest 2024 will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Highlands Marina. Films begin when the sun goes down. The event also features artist vendors, food trucks, live music, a 50/50 raffle and more!


The 43rd biennial New Jersey Film Festival will take place from September 6 to October 18


(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) – The 43rd biennial New Jersey Film Festival will take place on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between September 6 and October 18, 2024. 21 films will premiere in New Jersey or the region at the festival. The festival will be a mix of in-person screenings at Rutgers University and titles available via video on demand. All films will be available virtually via video on demand for 24 hours on their screening day. VOD start times are midnight Eastern Time. In addition to screenings, electronic music artist Jim Haynes will perform an audiovisual concert on Friday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m.



Zufall Health calls on artists for “New Beginnings,” the first group exhibition in West Orange


(WEST ORANGE, NJ) – Zufall Health, a nonprofit health center based in Dover with a branch in West Orange, is pleased to accept artwork submissions for an upcoming group exhibition. The exhibition is called “New Beginnings” and explores the themes of renewal, hope and the beauty of a new start. The exhibition invites artists to submit representational, abstract and conceptual artworks including drawings, paintings, collages, and photographic and digital art. Note: Sculptures cannot be accepted.
