Guide to Searching and Finding the Orange Bird During Flavors Of Florida at Disney Springs

Visit guests Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Now through August 11, check out this year’s Flavors of Florida event, where you can eat and drink specialty foods at all Disney Springs locations. As part of the fun, guests can stop by the Welcome Center in Town Center (also known as Guest Relations) to pick up an event guide that also includes a free activity – a seek and find throughout Disney Springs!

This event guide will tie the activity into the lore and imaginative history of Disney Springs. Didn’t get the event guide at the Welcome Center? Don’t worry, you can also pick it up at Corkcicle, City Works Eatery & Pour Houseor eat by Manee Chauhan.

This activity requires you to look for Orange Bird, accompanied by a letter, as you visit each landmark on the map in the area. Once you match the correct letter sticker to the location number in the answer key, you’ll learn the name of the first family to settle near Disney Springs (according to the detailed backstory provided by Imagineers).

Note that the map includes a sticker page to help you keep track of where you’ve been, as well as letters to help you figure out the answer. There are MORE letters on this page than necessary to make it even more challenging. Once the answer is unscrambled, you can return to the Welcome Center (or one of the other locations mentioned above) to pick up a special prize.

SPOILER ALERT! If you want to find all the Orange Bird locations yourself, stop reading now, but if you need help (or just want all the answers right now), keep reading!

Our journey begins in the center of the town center, near the Archimedes Screw, which is located almost exactly in the middle of this area of Disney Springs. According to Disney Springs lore, the crystal clear waters of the springs possessed magical powers, which can be proven by turning the wheel of the Archimedes Screw. Just above the screw and to the right, you will find our first Orange Bird location, anchored by the letter S.

Let’s continue towards the West Side of Disney Springs, crossing the covered Market Street. Throughout Disney Springs’ history, artisans came from far and wide to sell their wares to the residents of Disney Springs.

Legend has it that it became so popular that at one point it had to be covered so shoppers could visit rain or shine. Easier to spot as you walk through the Planet Hollywood area towards the city center, this is where you’ll find our next Orange Bird – with the letter C.

On the way to the West Side, we stop at Exposition Park (home of the food trucks), which is named (in the backstory) after the Grand Centennial Exposition, which commemorates the (also fictional) 100th anniversary of the founding of Disney Springs.

This bird may be harder to spot in the evenings when lines form of people grabbing snacks or trying to get a seat for the new drone show “Disney Dreams That Soar,” but in the flower box you’ll find another orange bird, this time with the letter “I.”

As you continue along the West Side toward Cirque Du Soleil and City Works, you can still see sections of the fictional Sunshine Railway’s elevated train tracks scattered throughout the area. In the legend, they once connected Disney Springs to coastal communities in Florida and beyond.

As you approach these tracks, closer to City Works and the former NBA Experience, you will find another Orange Bird, this time accompanied by the letter L.

Let’s start our trek back through the West Side towards The Landing, or if you’re a Disney Parks fan of a certain age, you probably still call this area “The old Pleasure Island”. Here in The Landing you’ll find the outdoor seating area and exhibit venue next to Jock Lindsay’s Hangar Bar, but in front of The Boathouse.

Look for the compass near Jock Lindsay’s and stand on the clipper on the North Arm. Looking outward from the compass center, you can easily spot the next Orange Bird, with the letter N.

Now let’s head back to the town center before heading back to the market square. On this leg of our journey we will find the Orange Bird, which is probably the hardest/easiest to miss. There are fake signs all over Disney Springs that tie into the lore of what used to be here (no Pleasure Island sign. Write your letters.) in the backstory.

One of them, tucked away a little, is the Ice House, where perishable goods such as the region’s citrus fruits were stored. Sitting on a dock overlooking the crystal clear waters of the springs, you can easily spot it – as long as you look in the right direction. At the very back on the wall you’ll find Orange Bird with the letter A.

Our journey is almost over as we head to the Marketplace via the Village Causeway. On this causeway (which in the backstory was once a swing bridge for watercraft) you will find our friend selling citrus fruits.

Here Orange Bird is seen high on the bridge piers, accompanied by a letter R.

Finally, we’ll head back to Once Upon A Toy and the playful fountain nearby to look for the Great Seal of Disney Springs. On top of the building that once housed The Void, you’ll find this giant seal, and just below it on the building itself, you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Below the seal you will find Orange Bird with our last letter, I.

Please note that we did NOT spot these symbols in numerical order on the answer key, so it will be a little confusing if you haven’t put the stickers in the right places as you move on. If you did it correctly, you should have your answer and your card should look like the one below.

Once completed, you can collect your special prize at one of the redemption points (we went to the Welcome Center again)!
