Gray Zone Warfare has made landing and recovery much easier

Helicopters are like buses – when you need one, there is never one, and then three come at once. That was the case in Grey zone warwith landing and recovery hampered by long wait times for transport. A new patch released today aims to make it a little easier to get to your destination – and make leaving more convenient, too.

Salvage shooters like Gray Zone Warfare rely on tense gunplay, careful planning, looting, and the thrill of coming out alive with all the new stuff you’ve looted. Unfortunately, there has been an issue with this multiplayer game up until now where players would have to endure some waiting time when trying to get out of the map in a helicopter. This should hopefully improve somewhat now that nine new landing zones have been placed in the game area. This means there’s less of a hassle of schlepping to a waiting helicopter when flying in or out.

The downside of this is that each match is still limited to four helicopters, so you have to wait for them to arrive to board and escape. One change is designed to make this easier by showing where each helicopter is going on the map before it gets there. This should make it easier to just fly along rather than having to wait for your own, as you can see where these helicopters are landing so you can just walk to the landing zone and jump on board. With more landing zones there should be more options to get away from there via air taxi.

Stability has also been scrutinized, with particular attention being given to rubberbanding. Sight aiming now has a sensitivity slider, and radiation is finally in the game – it’ll kill you if you get close to ground zero. And there’s a lot more, from VRAM optimization to a huge amount of bug fixes. Patch 0.1.2 for Gray Zone Warfare is now available and you can head over to Steam to read the full patch notes.
