Former NFL and Colts player in custody after police find missing son, report says

Former NFL and Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir is in police custody after his 14-year-old son Bryson was found more than two weeks after his reported disappearance.

According to Eric Graves of Fox59, Bryson Muir’s parents – Daniel and Kristen – “and several other people were arrested” after Indiana State Police raided a complex in Logansport.

Muir’s parents were scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but after they failed to appear, Indiana State Police prepared a major search operation Wednesday morning that involved “three SWAT teams, detectives, canine units and a bomb disposal squad,” according to Graves.

The search took place in several buildings on the property of the Servant Leader’s Foundation, a nonprofit religious group.

On Friday, June 28, a Silver Alert was issued by Indiana State Police “after his parents backed out of an agreement to bring the teen to police,” according to Fox59.

According to police, there was an agreement that Daniel and Kristin Muir would bring their son to a meeting with ISP at the Peru Post Office at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. However, the parents reportedly canceled the meeting.

According to police, Bryson was last seen on June 16 leaving his grandmother’s house just outside of Cleveland, Ohio.

His grandmother, Cheryl Wright, said the 14-year-old may have been abused by his father. Wright reported this to police after finding Bryson with a black eye.

Daniel Muir played parts of seven seasons in the NFL from 2007 to 2013. From 2008 to 2011, he was on the active roster for parts of four seasons with the Colts.
