The Esports World Cup adds a new dimension to the video game world.
Tournaments on local networks are nothing new for individual games, but the tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will feature 21 games in one venue. Only one game will have a men’s and a women’s tournament. It is the first world championship in esports.
It spans a month and begins on July 4. Each individual game tournament has its own end date, but the entire tournament ends on August 24.
The Esports World Cup will offer record prize money, divided into four categories. The total prize money is the highest ever awarded at an Esports event.

How much is the prize money at the 2024 Esports World Championship?
The prize money for the Esports World Cup is $60 million, divided into four divisions.
Before the World Cup began, $7.6 million was paid out to the teams that qualified for the event.
Over $33 million will be awarded for each individual tournament. The World Cup will have 21 games, so each winning team will take home the prize money. The MVP of each tournament will also receive $50,000.
The remaining $20 million will be divided among the top 16 organizations in the World Cup. Teams will receive points for their placement in each tournament, which will be added to the organization’s overall score at the end of the World Cup.
For example, T1, a South Korean e-sports organization, won the League of Legends tournament. If they also win the Teamfight Tactics tournament, they will improve their rank in the overall standings.
